58: why I'm clearing my calendar

(hint: it's all about JOY!)

We’re in November! Can you believe it?!

I can. I’m having a really intentional year. 

It started with divorce, a house sale, and a move from Miami to Charlotte. HUGE change!

Throughout the year, I felt surer and surer of myself.

Grounded, if you will.

Not necessarily joyful.

So, I was surprised a few weeks ago when something stirred within me.

I was listening to live on YouTube when the creator said she wanted to learn how to juggle multiple projects in her 50’s, and how to onboard and offboard staff. I jumped inside. My Inner Being wildly waved its hands.

Pick me! I know how to do that!

From then, worlds have been merging.

You may not know this about me, but back in 2021 I started an operations consulting company to help coaches and creatives with the backend of their business - their process, planning, and people.

I have 25 years of experience designing systems and doing process improvement for the big names and a history in the online business space. My intention was to combine the two.

Things were going well. Though I somehow found myself doing more implementation than I would like. I was in the midst of a pivot when I went to Miami for 6 weeks, and the rest you’re caught up on here. I turned my attention to caregiving.

I didn’t think I would ever return to that company. I let quite a bit lapse.

But that Saturday morning, joy stirred.

I was shocked!

I thought I would just lay it to rest, but the nudges kept coming.

Last week I participated in a YouTube challenge. It sparked joy and I followed it.

Next thing I know, I’m clearing space on my calendar for client calls. I didn’t think I had time for that, but I’m going for it.

It brings me joy.

I want to answer those questions about planning, and systems, and hiring. The things that turn solopreneurs into CEOs. The things no one sees in your business, but you can’t do business without.
